Kingly Bodies

On a 172 bus full with persons unable to look at one another, i see from the window- located opposite the old vic- a small unnoteworthy park. In the corner on the nearest side, a smattering of trees and below> often lie a group of persons sleeping in the shade. The sight is immediately followed- at the next stop- by one of hundreds of city workers unmoving and growing in number waiting at the gates of waterloo underground. At this early hour, in these hot summer months, kingly are those sleeping in the shade, under the trees in this rush hour.
